A decomposed body of a woman was found from behind a wall in a flat at Vrindavan in the Vangaon area of Palghar district.
According to police sources, the victim, identified as Amita Mohite from Umroli, was in a relationship with a man and ran away with him four months ago.
In these four months, the accused was using the victim's social media accounts and was in touch with her family through her WhatsApp. However, the victim's family became suspicious and lodged a complaint with the Boisar police a couple of days back.
On Thursday night, the police traced the accused with the help of call data records and mobile location and detained him. During the interrogation, he confessed to the crime.
