The woman owner of a building in Bhiwandi in Maharashtra's Thane district was booked in connection with a slab collapse on January 27, which killed one person and damaged eight shops, a police official said on Thursday.
The woman was booked on Wednesday under Indian Penal Code sections for culpable homicide and other offences, though she is yet to be arrested, the Nizampura police station official said.

The building is located in Khadipur, and the case was registered after a probe revealed the mishap allegedly took place due to negligence of the accused who had failed to carry out repairs to the structure or get its condition audited, the official said.
