The first case was reported at 7.45 am from Sanas Plaza apartments in Subhashnagar, which falls under the jurisdiction of Khadak police station. Vishakha Dalal (40), a housewife, was parking her vehicle, when two unidentified persons rode by her and grabbed her 17-gram gold mangalsutra.
The second incident was reported at 8.30 am from Prabhat Road. Nanda Vitthal Khandare (45), also a housewife, said in her complaint that she was walking down the road in front of Sai Tara building when two men snatched her 42.5-gram gold chain.
Fifteen minutes after that, the suspects seized two gold necklaces from 75-year-old Indumati Rasiklal Shah, a resident of Dhankawadi, who had gone at Sandesh Society in Sahakarnagar. The chains were worth Rs 1.87 lakh.
Another two such incidents were reported from Swargate at 9 am and 9.15 am, the crime committed by the same duo, cops suspect.u00a0ACP Rajendra Bhamare said, "Due to the festive season, we are observing a spike in chain snatching incidents.
