Kangana Ranaut and lyricist Javed Akhtar's legal battle continues as the Magistrate court in Mumbai summons Javed Akhtar on Kangana's complaint. The complaint is based on Indian Penal Code sections 506 (criminal intimidation) and 509 (insult to the modesty of a woman). Javed is required to appear before the Andheri court on August 5.
During the court proceedings, Dr. Ramesh Agarwal, Javed's physician, was summoned as a witness. He testified about a meeting that took place between Javed, Kangana, and her sister Rangoli Chandel back in 2016. Dr. Agarwal informed the court that during the meeting, Javed discussed the issue between Kangana and Hrithik Roshan, emphasizing the need for a settlement between the two actors.
In 2016, Javed had invited Kangana to his home to offer advice on her public dispute with Hrithik Roshan. However, in a later interview in 2020, Kangana claimed that Javed had threatened her for speaking out on the issue and subsequently filed a defamation suit against her. In response, she also filed a complaint against Javed.
During the court proceedings, Javed's advocate asked Dr. Agarwal about any defamatory words being spoken during the meeting, to which the doctor stated that he hadn't heard any such words. Dr. Agarwal mentioned that the meeting lasted about 20-30 minutes, and before leaving, Javed had advised Kangana to seek forgiveness.

When questioned by Kangana's lawyer, Dr. Agarwal denied that either Kangana or Javed had asked him to mediate in the dispute between her and Hrithik. He clarified that he was part of the meeting at Javed Akhtar's request. Dr. Agarwal further explained that the agenda of the meeting was for both Kangana and Hrithik to apologize to each other, but he was unaware that only Kangana would be asked to apologize. Kangana expressed her discomfort to Dr. Agarwal after leaving Javed's home, mentioning that both she and Hrithik were initially supposed to apologize, but later, only she was asked to do so.
As the legal proceedings continue, the complexity of the situation and the dynamics between the parties involved are being closely examined in the court.
