Vikram Bhatt has left no stone unturned to ensure Shaapit scares the audiences. He has in fact done what perhaps no Bollywood director has done before, use the Witches' alphabet in his film. In Shaapit, Rahul Dev's character uses the alphabet Theban to hide secret messages from people not meant to know about them. Vikram was inspired to do this after reading a Colin Wilson novel in which the character uses the alphabet. The director assures us that he has researched the subject in much depth and believes he has portrayed it accurately.

What is Theban?

Theban alphabet is a writing system whose origins are not yet clear to researchers. It is also known as Witches' alphabet because it is widely used in Wicca whenever any message needs to be hidden. It is also believed to be used to cast spells by either writing it out and burning the paper or carving it out in stone. Theban is also known as the Angelic script, because believers feel that if you want to ask an angel for help, your plea is more effective if it is written out in this script.
