We all know that Sallu bhai is a Jack of all trades, but if there's one thing that he sucks at, it is singing. When CS bumped into him on the sets of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Singing Superstars, he told us, "I can't sing to save my life. I'm not even a bathroom singer." But that doesn't stop Salman from being a big music buff.
He might not be a Tansen, but he surely is a kaansen - he loves listening to music. Ask him what kind, and he'll promptly say, "Jazz, hip-hop, Bollywood, funk, rock, classical... " He also has an extensive list of favourite musicians.

"I like listening to many of our contemporary artists. I love Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Adnan Sami and Sonu Nigam to name a few, along with many old-timers like Kishoreda, of course."
Known to be a mentor for many-a-new comers, Salman has done well to bring in fresh music talent in the film industry. And he has no hassles experimenting with artists who don't have elaborate CVs to boast of.
He says, "I've always had an eye for spotting talent. I don't think I'm doing anyone a favour by roping them in to sing or act for me.
They're there because they deserve to be there. If they're good at their job, they'll find a place in my films." Well Salman, you might just have zillions of starry-eyed artists queuing outside your house very soon, waiting to be auditioned.
