The combination of monsoons and music is magical. Malhar Rang, a musical concert on September 1 at Nehru Centre will celebrate the last phase of this season with performances from classical vocalist Ustad Rashid Khan and mandolin player U Shrinivas.

The former tells CS, "Performing in Mumbai is always great. The audience genuinely loves classical music and cheers us.

I will be singing a variety of Malhar ragas like Miya Malhar, Megh Malhar, Ramdasi Malhar, Sur Malhar, etc. As per the tradition, these ragas are sung only during the rains, as that's when they get their full flavour.

The rains help in capturing the spirit of the ragas." We hope that it pours on Wednesday, Rashidji!
